3. Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

• Provision and documentation of veterinary services
• Preparation of invoices and payment processing
• Accounting and, if necessary, credit checks
• Management of animal and keeper data
• Provision of information on treatment progress and risks
• Attaching box signs with relevant data
• Notifications to authorities (e.g., veterinary office, veterinary service)
• Use of images for advertising purposes (with permission)
• Compliance with legal requirements and contractual obligations

4. Legal basis for processing

Your data will be processed in connection with the treatment of your animal and the associated contact based on Art. 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph b GDPR. Your personal data will be shared with the veterinary chamber/veterinary service solely in accordance with legal requirements pursuant to Art. 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph c GDPR. If you wish to pay by invoice, a credit check will be performed, which is based on our legitimate interest in guaranteed payment pursuant to Art. 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph f GDPR. If you have consented to the use of data for advertising purposes, the legal basis is Art. 6, paragraph 1, subparagraph a GDPR.

5. Recipients of data

Your personal data will be shared, if necessary, solely for the above-mentioned purposes with:

• (subsequent) treating veterinarians within the TeamVet Association or externally
• Laboratories, farriers, other service providers
• Veterinary Chamber, Veterinary Service
• Credit reference agencies
• Lupapets app

6. Data transfer to third countries

We do not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA. However, when using the Lupapets App, the provider may transfer personal data to third countries.

7. Data storage

After collection, your data will only be stored by us for as long as is necessary, taking into account statutory retention periods, to fulfill the respective tasks.

8. Rights of data subjects

With regard to the data processing described above, users and data subjects have the right:

• to confirmation as to whether their data are being processed, to information about the processed data, to further information about the data processing and to copies of the data (see also Art. 15 GDPR)
• to rectification or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data (see also Art. 16 GDPR)
• to immediate erasure of the data concerned (see also Art. 17 GDPR) or, if further processing is necessary pursuant to Art. 17 para. 3 GDPR, to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR
• to receive data concerning them and provided by them and to transmit this data to other providers/controllers (see also Art. 20 GDPR)
• to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe that their data is being processed by the provider in violation of the law (see also Art. 77 GDPR)

In addition, we are obligated to inform all recipients to whom the provider has disclosed data of any correction or deletion of data or restriction of processing that has taken place in accordance with Articles 16, 17 (1), and 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not exist if notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, the user has the right to information about these recipients.

According to Art. 21 GDPR, data subjects also have the right to object to future processing of their data if the processing by the provider is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. In particular, an objection may be lodged against processing for direct marketing purposes.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint at any time with a data protection supervisory authority about our processing of your personal data.
